Wow!!! Thanks, you guys, for all the support of the Birkin Flares release! It makes me so happy you guys like the pattern and want to delve into jeansmaking. The response yesterday was beyond my biggest hopes, so I am gratified and relieved. (They like me, they really like me!)
One thing that a lot of you asked yesterday was to see some tester photos on different bodies. It's one thing to see how a sewn garment looks on the designer (since typically we design and tweak our patterns for our own shape/preference), but it's another thing entirely to see the fit on different shapes.
So, at your request, I have a TON of tester photos! I'll probably have a few more as well when the rest of the testers have sent me theirs. Stay tuned for that. But in the meantime, feast your eyes on these gorgeous ladies!
(Note: Some of the jeans in the photos below were sewn exactly as presented in the pattern. Others were modified slightly to fit individual body types. It would take hours and hours for me to go through all the tester notes and list here what changes were made. However, the takeaway is that it's easy to alter these jeans to get an absolutely custom fit! Sometimes it can take making and wearing a version for a little while to know exactly what tweaks you want to make in a future version, but that's part of the fun of the journey toward creating a handmade wardrobe. Be sure to consult the Baste + Gather Sewing Chat group on Facebook to discuss tweaks or get suggestions for your Birkin Flares!)
